Check out my step by step pictures below.

Ingredients

  • Parmigiano-Reggiano (optional)
  • Italian Bread, cubed
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Juice

Method

Step 1

Lightly cover bottom of frying pan with a thin layer of olive oil. Heat. Depending on how many bread cubes you have you may need a little more, you can add a little as you need.

Step 2

Combine garlic and lemon juice in a bowl. Add cubed bread and toss to cover bread cubes. You can add more garlic and/or lemon depending on how much flavor you like. Sprinkle in some Parmigiano-Reggiano if you like.

Step 3

Place the bread cubes into frying pan. Let cubes brown lightly, stir cubes around some so they do not burn.

Step 4

Place the lightly browned bread cubes on a baking sheet and place in a 350 degree oven until they reach your desired crunchiness. In my oven it usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes but it will depend on your oven, how large the cubes are and how much oil and lemon are on them.

Step by step pictures:

Italian Bread, cubed (You can use any type of bread, here I used a multi grain with sesame seeds.)

After you coat the cubes with the garlic and lemon, lightly brown in frying pan with oil.

Place lightly browned cubes on baking sheet and put in a 350 degree oven until desired crunchiness is reached.

Now you have freshly baked homemade Caesar Salad Croutons. Enjoy!
