Quick Brown Bread
Ingredients
- 2 C Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 1/2 C Molasses
- 1 C Milk
- 4 Tblsp Melted Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 C Nuts or Raisins (Optional)
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and lightly flour one loaf pan.
Step 2
Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl. Set aside.
Step 3
Add remaining ingredients in another bowl and beat until well blended then add flour and beat again until well blended, about 2 minutes.
The original recipe called for 1/2 tsp of salt, I do not cook with salt but some people cannot cook without it. So feel free to add it if you wish. Also the original recipe used shortening instead of butter.
